About ETFCompass
ETFCompass is a personal educational project created for people who want to understand long-term investing in a calmer, clearer, and more practical way.
About a year ago, I started becoming seriously interested in investing. At first, a lot of it felt confusing. There were too many opinions, too much noise, and too many confident voices saying completely different things. For me, it became a genuinely interesting journey to slowly understand how investing actually works.
I started reading more, listening more, and trying to build understanding step by step. I listened to many Financial Lithuanians podcast episodes, watched a lot of YouTube content, and read books that helped me build a stronger foundation. One of the books that helped me understand the basics better was A Random Walk Down Wall Street by Burton Malkiel.
Over time, the topic became more than just curiosity. As I understood more, I naturally started sharing what I had learned with people around me who were also interested in investing but wanted a simpler, more grounded way to approach it.
That is what eventually led me to create ETFCompass — a place built around simple rules, practical explanations, and beginner-friendly guidance for people who want to start carefully, learn together, and share experience as they go.
Who ETFCompass is for
ETFCompass is mainly for beginners in Europe who want to understand ETF investing without hype, pressure, or “get rich quick” messaging. It is for people who prefer a slower, more realistic learning process and want to build confidence before making decisions.
What ETFCompass tries to do
- Explain investing in plain language.
- Focus on long-term thinking instead of short-term excitement.
- Keep the discussion relevant for European investors and UCITS reality.
- Offer practical tools, examples, and simple frameworks.
- Help beginners feel less lost and more confident.
What ETFCompass is not
- Not a broker.
- Not a licensed investment adviser.
- Not a promise of returns.
- Not a “fast money” project.
How the project is approached
The goal is not to sound smart or make investing look easy. The goal is to make it easier to understand. ETFCompass tries to combine personal learning, practical explanation, and respect for primary sources wherever accuracy matters.
This website is built with the belief that many people do not need more noise — they need a calmer starting point, a clearer path, and an honest place to keep learning.
